Sahara reporters has received original copies of the statement in which Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Pro-Biafran IPOB tendered his unreserved apologies to Buhari for calling him a pedophile and terrorist. He also apologized to former President Jonathan and Igbo leaders for insults he hauled on them previously. The statement was written on October 23rd after he was arrested on October 14th. Nnamdi Kanu, Male Igbo Christian, aged 48 (i.e. born 1967, the year Biafra was announced), of Afaraukwu-Ibeku (Umuahia-North LG, Abia State), of dual Nigerian-British nationality, living in Pilkington Road, SE London, UK
I can confirm that I, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra worldwide is a legally registered and duly recognized body at the United Nations pursuing the rights of a specific indigenous people, in this case Biafra, to seek self-determination according to the said charter. The reason for the formation of the Indigenous People of Biafra is to avail those referring to themselves as Biafrans the opportunity made available as a result of the United Nations Declaration to seek the peaceful re-Birth of Biafra in line with international laws, lack of holistic development in the socio-economic landscape of Nigeria, lack of youth employment, corruption in high offices, and economic repression.
Opportunities no longer existed for the majority of the people, and especially young graduates to find meaningful employment in the job market, general hardship, brutal repression of civil and human rights coupled with system that shuns inward investment contributed to the thinking behind the formation of IPOB.
The People of Biafra all over the world have particular emphasis on those residing in the diaspora it is not advised that those in Nigeria contribute. No contribution is accepted from those in political office or from organizations only individuals belonging to those organizations may choose to contribute if they wish to the volunteer force. IPOB is a group of people who may wish to group themselves together for the purpose of Evangelism or going out to the streets to distribute leaflets and preach the message of lawful existence of Biafra as stipulated in the UN Charter.
There is no armed conflict agitating and any reference to such is purely designed to stop the Nigerian Armed Forces ostensibly the police from coming out and killing innocent people.
IPOB volunteers are modeled on exactly the same tenet as the world renowned Salvation Army Front. Its ambitions are army but it does not carry any weapons. The same thing applies to the volunteers of IPOB. There is no arms training involved. I am the Director of Radio Biafra and solely responsible for the output the (genre?) of Radio Biafra is strictly to capture attention and imagination and not designed to incite anyone to violence.
For very many years the Nigerian state and Nigerians in general have continued to witness poor economic management, fraud, corruption, and mismanagement of every sector of the economy. Therefore, as Radio Biafra programs were designed to wake up the public from their slumber and address the issues of the time, which is youth unemployment, lack of infrastructural provisions, poor electricity, an absence of rural development, and conspicuous absence of respect for human rights.
The area as envisaged as Biafra are predominantly South-East and South-South territories having cultural, linguistic, traditional, and commonality in value system. Reference to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a terrorist, evil, and Paedophile is regrettable and uncalled for and for that I unreservedly apologize and will be doing so in a private letter to the President. Before PMP there was the administration of Goodluck Jonathan I also said some uncomplimentary things about him and Igbo elders as well, which I now recognize should have happened because it is un-African to be rude or insolent to elders. All I was trying to do is draw attention to the problems afflicting society and what society is doing about it.
The areas intended for the Biafran being espoused by Indigenous People of Biafra are Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Anambra, Bayelsa Delta, Edo (but only Igbamke), Kogi (only Igala), and Imo States. The mission statement of Radio Biafra is dedicated to the defences of the rights of the indigenous people of Biafra and ultimately the restoration of the REpublic of Biafra in line with United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous People

Spanish police detain two siblings who kept brother locked in 'inhuman conditions'
Spanish police said Tuesday they had detained two people who kept their 59-year-old brother locked up in "inhuman conditions" in a tiny, roofless room adjoining their home.
The man, who suffers from mental problems, was discovered naked in a tiny room without a roof in the southern town of Dos Hermanas, on a filthy mattress next to which bottles and buckets were laid out for him to go to the toilet, police said in a statement.
Police in the town near Seville made the grisly discovery when they brought his 76-year-old drunk brother back to his home following complaints of disorderly behaviour.
"Once inside the home, they saw a door at the end of a corridor closed with a chain... and padlock," Spain's national police said in a statement.
"After asking the man, he said that was where his brother lived, who had mental problems and whom they kept isolated for his security."
His 61-year-old sister also lived in the house and said she kept him fed and cleaned, and looked after his 1,000-euro ($1,100) monthly pension.
"Due to the strange situation they were faced with, the agents asked both siblings to open the door to check the state of their brother," police said.
"Once they went through, they came across another door closed by a wooden beam."
"After going through both doors, they found a crumbling, narrow staircase that went up to a type of dovecote," they added, before discovering the brother in the tiny roofless hovel.
"His health and cleanliness were deplorable and the state of the place was completely insanitary without access to running water or toilets," police said, describing his living conditions as "inhuman."
The man was taken to hospital, while his two siblings were detained, they added.

Akwa-Ibom Assembly elects first female Deputy Speaker
Mrs. Felicia Bassey representing Okobo state constituency and Chair Person, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Welfare Matters, made history by being elected as the first Deputy Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
In a statement released yesterday in Uyo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Kufre Okon, said Bassey emerged the first female Deputy Speaker during Tuesday’s plenary, to replace the former Deputy Speaker, Mr. Effiong Bassey, representing Oron/Udung Uko state constituency, whose election was nullified last week by the Appeal Court in Abuja.
The Speaker, Mr. Onofiok Luke, who administered the oath of office on the new Deputy Speaker encouraged her to live up to the expectation of the sixth Assembly while discharging her legislative duties.
The statement added that other members said that the position was well deserved, and expressed confidence in her ability to discharge the functions of the office to its fullest potential.

The priest conducted Christmas mass in the city of Binan while tooling around the church on his board. It didn't sit well with church officials.
Those closer to God said, "The Eucharist demands utmost respect and reverence. It is the Church's highest form of worship, not a personal celebration where one can capriciously introduce something to get attention."
The honchos in the diocese said they want to give the priest in question time to "reflect," calling it "a wake up call."

Bill Cosby Charged with Felony Sexual Assault
- Attorneys for Andrea Constand released a statement thanking the Montgomery District Attorney's office, County Detectives and the Cheltenham Police Department for their "consideration and courtesy." They added, "In that this matter is now being pursued in the criminal justice system, we will not comment further."
Bill Cosby has just been charged with felony sexual assault ... technically called aggravated indecent assault.
The charges stem from Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee, who claims in 2004 Cosby drugged and assaulted her while she was working as the operations manager for the women's basketball team.
Montgomery County authorities investigated her claims, but eventually rejected the case ... citing a lack of evidence.
Constand sued Cosby in 2005 and settled the case a year later.
District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman reopened the investigation this summer after more than 50 women came forward with similar accusations. The D.A. said the charges were based on new evidence.
The D.A. says Cosby gave Constand pills and wine that rendered her unable to consent to sexual contact with Cosby ... something the D.A. says she rejected twice in the past.
Under Pennsylvania's 12-year statute of limitations for felony sex crimes, Ferman's office had until January to file a case based on Constand's claims.
If convicted, Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison.
FG reduces fuel price by 50 kobo per litre
The federal government yesterday reduced the pump price of petrol from N87 to N86.50k per litre with effect from January 1st.
In a statement signed by the executive secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) Farouk Ahmed in Abuja, FG said that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) retail stations will sell at N86 per litre, while retail outlets owned by oil marketers will sell at N86.50k per litre.
The new price follows the approval of the minister of state for petroleum resources Dr. Ibe Kachikwu. The statement adds that the new price will remain till March 31, 2016.
“This is not static; there will be a quarterly review of the pricing template. However, if there is any pricing shift, the minister of state for petroleum resources may call for a review upwards or downward depending on the market condition but for at least the first quarter of 2016 the price will be N86.50/litre while for NNPC it is N86/litre,” he said.
Glee star Mark Salling arrested for child pornography following tip-off from his ex-girlfriend
33 year old Mark Salling who plays Noah 'Puck' Puckerman in the hit FOX series Glee was arrested by LA Police on Tuesday morning after police raided his home in Sunland, California after they got a tip off from his ex-girlfriend. Cops searched the 33-year-old's computer and say they found more than a thousand indecent images of child sexual exploitation. The children found on his computer were said to be less than 16 years old...
He posted bail of about $20,000 later on the same day. Possession of more than 600 images can carry a punishment of up to five years in prison. His court date has been set for January 22.
According to CrimeWatchDaily who first reported the story, Salling didn't let police into his house at first, so they had to resort to use of battering rams before they could get into the house.
His computer and other electronic devices were reportedly seized by cops after Salling refused telling them his password.
Tuesday's arrest was not the star's first brush with the law. In March it's believed he reached a $2.7million settlement with a woman who had sued him for sexual battery. Salling shot to fame playing Noah 'Puck' Puckerman in the hit FOX series Glee. He first appeared in 2008 and was a regular until season five.

Nnamdi Kanu apologises to Pres. Buhari, Jonathan, Igbo elders
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed regret for referring to President Buhari as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile during one of his programmes on his radio station on August 1st this year. Kanu tendered the apology for his comment against Buhari, Jonathan and others in a statement which he made to the DSS on October 23rd.
The statement in part reads
"Reference to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile is regrettable and uncalled for and for that, I unreservedly apologise and will be doing so in a private letter to the President. Before PMB (President Buhari) there was the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. I also said uncomplimentary things about him and Igbo elders as well, which I now recognise should not have happened because it is un-African to be rude or insolent to elders. All I was trying to do is to draw attention to the problems afflicting society and something done about them.”.
He says he is however not apologetic on his stand for the actualization of the Biafran state. Kanu who is standing trial for treason and five other offenses, was arrested on October 14th this year. He was recently charged to court by the federal government.

El-Zakzaky’s followers charged with criminal conspiracy, remanded in custody
Some members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria have been arraigned at the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Zaria Road, Kaduna and charged with criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbances.
Their leader, Ibrahim El-zakyzaky, has been taken into custody by the army before he was released to the police for investigation.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, on Tuesday t saidhat the Shi’ite members were being prosecuted for incitement and public disturbances among other charges.
She said:
“Some Shi’ite members have been arraigned in court where they were charged with criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbances among others; they have been remanded in prison custody and the case adjourned.”
The Shi’ite members had had a clash with the Army about two weeks ago during which about 20 persons were killed.
They have been remanded in prison custody.

Woman escapes being killed by an Alfa for 'rituals' in Lagos
On Tuesday, residents of Big Daddy Street in the Atinplome, Bagadry area of Lagos State stormed an uncompleted building in the area, which they suspected to be a ritual killer’s den, after a lady ran out of the building crying for help.
It was learnt that while a carnival was going on in the area, a woman in her late 20s, whose name is unknown, ran into the party with her throat partly slashed and blood streaming down the length of her body at about 2am.
The lady, who later became unconscious told the crowd that an Alfa, identified as Mallam Sheu, had tricked her into the uncompleted structure before slitting her throat with a knife. She was rushed to the hospital and the matter reported to the Police.
It was learnt that in the morning, more residents went into the scene of the crime and they said they found bloodstains, old clothes, charms and ladies’ clothes inside the structure.
A resident who identified herself as Mummy Eso, said youths in the area attempted to burn the uncompleted building in the afternoon, because they thought that the lady had died of her injuries.
Mummy Eso a resident there said:
“There was commotion in our area in the midnight when boys holding a street party saw the girl bleeding from the throat. The girl, who just managed to speak, pointed to the structure and said an alfa had attempted to kill her, but she managed to escape.
“One of her hands had also been tampered with. So, the youths became furious and headed for the uncompleted building. Some policemen, who were also on guard duties at the carnival were informed about the incident and they went too. But information had got to the man, and he escaped before they could arrest him.
“Since morning, people have been coming to the area to check the building. They attempted to burn it in the afternoon.”
Another resident, identified as Akeem Ajao, who visited the building, said the youths found old bloodstains, clothes and charms.
He said:
“The lady ran into the carnival with blood streaming out of her body. One of those at the carnival saw her and came to her rescue. She said a man was in the house trying to slaughter her.
“We rushed the girl to a hospital, where she is now receiving treatment. We did not know that the alfa used the house to do evil works. The girl’s clothes were bloodstained. The police have also come to the area this morning.
“When I entered the house, I saw bloodstains, charms and a human bone was also in the man’s car – a Gulf 4 vehicle. It was the boys holding the carnival who noticed the girl.
“The girl’s neck was cut. Nobody knows the family of the girl involved. The man has run away from the area.”
It was gathered that the alfa had been having an affair with the lady, before he took her to the uncompleted building on the evening of the carnival.
The matter was said to have been reported at the Morogbo Police Division, and some policemen came to the scene, but the alfa had already fled the scene of the crime.

Rob Kardashian diagnosed with diabetes after being rushed to hospital
Kris Jenner's only son, Rob Kardashian was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital over the weekend when he began feeling ill and his condition worsened.
After a series of tests were conducted, doctors told Rob that he suffered from diabetes, which was news to him, according to TMZ.
The incident is said to be a "wake up call" to Rob that he needs to get healthy.
"He's home already. He went for a little and is fine now. It was a wake up call," A source told E! News.
The insider said that Rob's tests revealed his blood sugar levels were very high, and doctors told him that he needs to lose weight, exercise and dramatically change his diet, or it will get worse.
N6.08trillion budget: 'Nigeria going the way of Greece' - PDP warns

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has thrown more light into why the N6.08 trillion 2016 federal budget presented by President Muhammadu Buhari is a huge fraud, warning that with the proposed N1.84 trillion borrowing, the nation is going the way of Greece.
Speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, explained that a breakdown of the N1.84 trillion shows that Nigeria would be borrowing N5 billion a day for the next 365 days, starting from January I, 2016, without corresponding provision for economic production and a clear repayment plan, a scenario that spells doom for the future of the nation.
According to Metuh, “Some people may be wondering why we raised an alarm about the budget. The reason is simple. When we analyzed the budget, we discovered it is a misshapen attempt at a Keynesian economics of applying deficit spending to stimulate growth even when studies have proven that GDP growth rates decrease by over 50% when debt goes from low or moderate to high. But then we know the borrowing here is to pay huge campaign debt and fund a political war chest.
"By every standard, this budget is a booby trap against the nation. When you break down the proposed N1.84 trillion borrowing, you discover that it amounts to borrowing N5 billion everyday for the 365 days in 2016. The questions are: for what specific projects are they borrowing N5 billion per day and how do they intend to pay back?
“The President should explain to Nigerians how they intend to pay back the loan. Is it by continuous borrowing to service the interests, and does he intend to accumulate colossal debt for future generations of Nigerians?
"The truth is that this administration cannot justify this proposal. There is no known economy in the world where you can justify borrowing N1.84 trillion without specific projects and precise repayment outline. This is worse still in an oil-driven, mono-economy at a time crude oil is selling at $30 dollars per barrel and is speculated to go down to about $20 dollars or even lower in the next one year. The idea can only come when you diversify the economy and boost production capacity in manufacturing and other critical sectors, a direction, which the budget clearly failed to provide.
"From all indicators, the borrowing will be negative. They are driving us to be like Greece, and to plunge us into unnecessary debt. When the PDP took office in 1999, we achieved the cancellation of inherited debts. This administration, in seeking to accumulate debts, should know that there is no possibility that any country in the world will give us debt cancellation anymore.”
Metuh added, "More importantly, we are really worried about negative economic policies of the present administration and the copying of strategies that failed in other economies. Recall that we had earlier alerted on the negative consequences of the retrogressive foreign exchange controls wherein this government is making it impossible for honest Nigerians to engage in free trade and regulate their personal activities.
“There seems to be the erroneous belief that the controls will create foreign exchange stability or strengthen the Naira by limiting foreign currency outflows. This policy had badly affected other countries in the recent past; including Argentina, whose new government had to reverse the policy to save their economy. Why then are we copying a policy that failed in other countries?
“In practice, the kind of crude controls the Federal Government is implementing have been proven ineffective in preventing capital flight. By limiting the local availability of foreign exchange, the controls have instead increased the demand for foreign exchange, putting greater pressure on the naira and achieving the exact opposite of what the government in its naivety believed would happen.
“The negative impacts of the ill-conceived controls include the hindering of international trade and discouraging of foreign investment. We have seen first-hand the crippling of the private sector in the last six months, upon the implementation of these measures were out. Traders, importers and all manner of businesses are being destroyed as a result of the contrived unavailability of foreign exchange.”
The PDP spokesman challenged the Federal Government to a public and open debate on the budget devoid of the sentiments of the APC-controlled National Assembly and who are minded against any cuts in their own allocation.

Man, 60, arrested for defiling a 12 year old girl in Ogun state
Things just get more and more terrible,nawa ooo...A 60-year-old man identified as Adewale Enoch has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. A statement made by the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi to journalists on Monday, disclosed that the incident occurred on Saturday, at Moborode area, Abigi, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State.
"The police operatives attached to Abigi Division of the Ogun State police command have arrested one Adewale Enoch,60, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl,12, on 26th December at 150hrs," he said
According to the statement, the suspect was arrested after the father of the victim reported to the police.
"The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has directed that the case be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution for the command has credible evidence to arraign the suspect," DSP Adejobi said.
"The police boss also appealed to parents and guardians to monitor their children or wards, as all hands must be on deck to eradicate this criminal, barbaric and inhuman act in our society," he added.
The Commissioner of Police on his part promised to continue the fight against child abuse, gender violence and other social vices that can expose children to dangers.

An Indonesian woman was flogged outside a Mosque in Indonesia last week and her crime? For being in 'close proximity' to a man she wasn't married to. This apparently is an offence under Sharia law and the punishment is public caning. Hundreds of people gathered outside the Mosque to watch student Nur Elita caned for showing affectionate behaviour to a fellow university student. The caning ended with Nur collapsing and being taken to the hospital.

Buhari set to hold his first media chat on December 30th
President Buhari will host his first Presidential Media Chat on Wednesday December 30th by 7pm.
A statement by the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, states that the chat will be broadcast live on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and he will answer questions from a panel of journalists on a broad range of current national issues.
