“100 Years”, The Movie You Will Never See, An Original film to be released in November 2115. Watch the 3 Trailers

Imagine seeing trailers of a movie you will never watch...awesome! but a bit saddening sha..

Louis XIII Cognac, one of the most luxurious spirits in the world, announced an original film, starring actor John Malkovich, which envisions Earth one hundred years from now and will not be released until 2115. Directed by Robert Rodriguez "100 Years", the movie you will never see, was inspired by the century of careful craftsmanship and patience it takes to create each decanter of Louis XIII Cognac.

To ensure that "100 Years" remains secure until its official premiere on November 18, 2115, one century from now, the film was placed in a state-of-the-art safe which will open automatically in 100 years when the timing is complete. One thousand guests from around the world received an exclusive invitation to give to their descendants to attend the premiere of "100 Years", on November 18, 2115, at the House of Louis XIII in Cognac, France.

2115: An Unknown Future

While this ground-breaking film will not be released until 2115, three teasers have been produced that explore hypothetical visions of what Earth might be like in one hundred years.  Each teaser begins with the same dialogue and incorporates the actors, but each presents a different future.

One imagines the Earth one hundred years from now overtaken by nature. Another imagines a world ruled by technology, after extraterrestrial exploration when Earth becomes ultra-urbanized and technologically advanced. And the third teaser imagines that humanoid robots have taken control of the earth and humans have to run to escape. They engage viewers to question which vision is closest to tomorrow's reality.

The film "100 Years" was placed in a custom made safe created in partnership with Fichet-Bauche, a distinguished French company, established in 1825, and a world-leader in secure storage facilities. The safe is a marvel of design, featuring bulletproof glass and a revolutionary timer that records the time and date upon closure and counts down one hundred years.  Once closed, the safe will not open until the one hundred year countdown is complete on November 18, 2115. The first luxury safe box in the world that cannot be opened with a code or a key, the safe will open automatically regardless of access to a power source, further guaranteeing that there is no way that the film can be accessed before 2115.

Kenneth Omeruo denies reports he wont be fit for next month's Super Eagles' friendlies

Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chelsea player Kenneth Omeruo who is on loan at Kasimpasa is currently nursing a groin injury but has dismissed reports that he won't be playing for the Super Eagles Friendly matches against Mali and Luxembourg next month. He also said his main reason for missing the Olympics in Rio is because his doctors have advised him not to participate as the strain from such a tournament will be too much for him to bear.

“I am happy that I have been called up for the friendly games against Mali and Luxembourg. I am looking forward to putting on the green and white of Nigeria again and giving my 100% to the team,” he told Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye.
“I am very fit and hope to stay this way for my club and country. “There is no truth in the reports that I am currently sidelined by groin injury.” Omeruo kept on telling Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye.
“I regret my inability to be part of the Olympic team but as a professional player one has to be guided by the recommendations of experts,” he said.
“My doctors advised that it is best I have a good rest during the off season and they felt participating at the Olympics won’t guarantee that so I had to pull out. In my absence I believe in the abilities of the national U23 team coaches and the players to do the nation proud in Rio.”

Ocean of Love!

Read this amazing write up by Jake Peters...

The ocean of love....vast and boundless....waves of doubt roam lawless....and yet I stand before it...as the wind slowly whispers  reasons why I should turn back...i pause for a minute....hold my breath...as I look into her eyes....and she looks into mine...she moves closer.....and holds me tight....scared of the journey into the ocean of love....i pull her closer....my face only an inch from hers.....i feel her warm breath on my face....and she feels mine on hers...the world pauses as I plant my lips on hers.....a sweet reassurance of my love for her....and then we take slow steps into the ocean of love....to thrive where others have failed.

This has definitely got me in the lovey dovey mood,mmmmmm..

University of Ibadan shut down over Student's Protest

The University of Ibadan has been shut down indefinitely following a two-day protest by students who have now been asked to leave the campus. The students were expressing displeasure over "the suspension of a union leader by the students’ disciplinary committee" and "non-availability of some amenities needed on the campus".

In what is becoming a norm in Federal Universities, the students complained about lack of power and water which they said made learning difficult for them.

They took their protests to Lectures halls & disrupted ongoing classes by using canes to chase colleagues who didn't join the protests.

They also shut down all entrances to the institution, a move which has been declared illegal by other institutions including UNILAG.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Abel Olayinka said the decision to shut the institution was occasioned by violent protests which, he added, had led to "life-threatening acts and text messages" being sent and received around the campus.

Shocking note left at a couple's death scene in Los Angeles

A handwritten note that read: "Sorry, my first kill was clumsy" was discovered next to the bodies of a couple, Shamima,57, and Golam Rabbi, 59, who were shot dead in their home on Sunday. The couple, who were originally from Bangladesh, had both been shot at least once inside their home in San Jose, Los Angeles.

Detectives are investigating the murders of the couple who were discovered by the police at 1.47pm on Sunday after police were dispatched to the house to investigate 'suspicious circumstances'.

Beside them was a creepy note, which apologized for the mess the killer had caused when the couple was killed, the message was scrawled on a note found next to the couple’s bodies, but Police have refused to release any more details of the terrifying crime.

KGO-TV reported that the message, “Sorry, my first kill was clumsy" was written next to the couple’s bodies.

Police have not yet identified a suspect in the killings or discovered a motive.

The couple, were survived by two sons, a 17 year old and a 23 year old and they were members of the South Bay Islamic Association and the Evergreen Islamic Center in San Jose.

A statement by the association read:
"We ask Allah to forgive the deceased, shower his mercy on them, and make their graves a garden from paradise.
"In addition, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and ask Allah to grant them strength and patience during this most difficult time."

Investigations are still going on to solve the murder.

Arresting Jonathan will throw Nigeria into confusion- Northern CAN warns Buhari

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Northern Chapter, has released a statement asking President Buhari to shelve any plans of arresting former President Goodluck Jonathan as he continues in his fight against corruption. In a statement signed by the association's Publicity Secretary, Rev. Joseph Hayab, the christian body stated that such moves by the Buhari-led government will throw Nigeria into confusion;

“Let me warn that such a misadventure will set a wrong precedent and only open door for mischief people to set this nation into confusion. What Nigerians need urgently is availability of fuel, electricity, prompt salary, security of lives and property, among other issues that are begging for urgent answers. If the purported plan to arrest him is to please the international community and prove to them that we are fighting corruption, then let us know that this same international community are busy celebrating him as hero of democracy and even those who seriously wanted him to go for a change to happen are now singing a new song about him. Former President, Jonathan is deservedly seen in Nigeria and beyond as a hero of democracy because of his actions before, during and after the 2015 elections. As such, it will be an ill advice for the Buhari administration to initiate the arrest of such a statesman at this time and with the current realities. Our government must know that there are individuals serving today that are also been accused of corruption but since there are claims that nothing has been established against them, they are walking and speaking like saints. While ignoring all these, Government now wants to arrest a man of peace like Jonathan? CAN Northern States wishes to advice that such an action, if actualized, has the capacity to lead to serious confusion that will affect Nigeria economically and otherwise. We believe Former President Jonathan deserves praise and should receive gratitude from those in power today not scorn. Let it not be that this purported planned arrest is meant to distract Nigerians from speaking or complaining about the reality of what and how they are feeling since the past eleven months, we are afraid that such an action may spark a chain of reactions. If our President wants to arrest anything for now then he should arrest the incessant spate of herdsmen attacks in Nigeria which has led to the deaths of almost a thousand of innocent Nigerians under his watch. He should arrest the dangerous slide in the power sector.he should arrest the slide in the economy. We believe at this time and with the current realities that our former president most not be denigrate but honour, because honour must be given to whom it is due.”

Nigerian Professor breaks '187 year record' at King’s College, UK

Nigerian academic, Prof. Abiodun Alao, will today deliver an inaugural lecture at King’s College, University of London. This would make him the first ever black African scholar to deliver such lecture since the institution was established back in 1829.
A professor of African Studies, Abiodun Alao was conferred with a professorial title about two years ago alongside his Nigerian counterpart in the institution’s African Leadership Centre - Prof. Funmi Olonisakin. Abiodun Alao’s lecture titled, "Africa: A Voice to be Heard, Not a Problem to be Solved" will be delivered at the Edward Safra Lecture Theatre at the college’s main campus & will be attended by people from different parts of the world including Nigeria, Australia, Kenya, USA and South Africa.

Mathew Knowles responds to speculation that Beyonce’s new album Lemonade is about her marriage to Jay Z

Beyonce's father & former manager has responded to rumours that her new album Lemonade references her marriage to husband Jay Z or himself. Responding to her emotional visual album and speculation that it sheds light on allegations Jay Z cheated on her, Mathew told SiriusXM;
"There’s no way that we can get into the mind of Beyoncé. Only Beyoncé can answer who she specifically is talking to. I'd rather not get into speculation, so my answer is I don’t know. I can only speak of being a proud father."
When asked about his opinion on speculation by fans that the album might actually be about him, Mathew whose marriage with Beyonce’s mother ended after 31 years, said:
"I'm 64 years old, do I really care what people say about me? I know the response you want to get. You’re not going to get that response."

Father found guilty of slithing his 4 sons' throats in a fit of rage after an argument with their mother

"I have full knowledge of what happened...and I plead guilty from count one to four of murder" The Limpopo High Court in Polokwane yesterday, Tuesday, April 26 found Lesiba Kekana, 37, guilty of murdering his four young sons in a fit of rage after an argument with their mother over accusations of infidelity, the Citizen reported.

Kekana slit the throats of his four sons with a kitchen knife after an arguement with their mother, whom he accused of having affairs with other men.

The four boys, aged 13, 10, 6 and 4, were killed on Sunday morning September 6, 2015 at their home in Moletlane village in Limpopo’s Zebediela area South Africa. Two of the boys were killed inside the sitting room and the other two in their bedroom. See previous report here

The prosecution said Bokang kekana, 13, Keneilwe Kekana, 10, Hlologelo Kekana, 6 and Lekgoledi Kekana,4, died as result of a “sharp force neck trauma”. When asked by the court about the horror murders, Kekana did not dispute allegations levelled against him instead he sought to give an explanation.

"I have a full knowledge of what happened as explained by my counsel, that I plead guilty from count one to four of murder," said Kekana.

He said he went into a rage after he found a used condom in the house, which he said did not belong to him. Kekana told the court that he confronted his wife about the used condom.

"She admitted, and told me that she had an affair with another man, we slept there and she asked me not to return to Moletlane," Kekana claimed in his statement that was read by his legal representative.

The multiple murder accused also claimed that a day before the tragedy a quarrel ensued with his wife, Lorraine, over her alleged extra marital affairs. Lorraine was in Gauteng where she worked at the time.

"I got extremely angry that I resolved myself that I should kill myself … immediately after hanging [up] the phone Bokang Kekana came to where I was, I then thought what will happen to them … I then took a knife and cut Bokang …" the accused said in a shocking admission of guilt.

Kekana said he looked for his other sons, who at the time were sleeping and not aware that he had killed Bokang. He also killed Hlologelo.

"I proceeded and found them sleeping … I found Keneilwe … I cut his throat and I immediately cut Lekgoledi’s throat, with motive of killing,” said Kekana is his graphic confession statement.

"I then cut my throat with intent to kill myself, unfortunately I did not die, I took a rope, while I was busy I heard knock on the door, and people came into my house," said Kekana.

After listening to the shocking confession, Judge Joseph Raulinga said:

"The court is satisfied that the contents of the statement comply with the charges preferred against the accused and the accused is found guilty as charged."
Police records indicate that Kekana, who now awaits sentencing, has no previous conviction.

House of Reps orders IGP to investigate Fulani Herdsmen attack in Enugu

The House of Representatives yesterday ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to conduct a thorough investigation into the attack carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State on Monday April 25th.

Over 100 people were reported dead with homes, churches and farmlands destroyed.

At the plenary session, the lawmakers decried the increasing reports of these attacks and warned that if not curtailed, could become another menace such as Boko Haram sect.

The House in strong words condemned the attacks and mandated the police chief to arrest the perpetrators. The lawmakers has also invited the Director of State Security Service to appear before it to brief the lawmakers on the rising cases of attacks of suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Kenneth Omeruo ruled out of the 2016 Olympic Games due to a groin problem

Kenneth Omeruo has been declared unavailable to play at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio due to a groin problem, BBC Sport reports. The Nigerian international defender, who is on a season-long loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa from Chelsea, has been told by the team doctor he needs time to recover.

"I feel sad about it as it was another good opportunity for me to represent my country," Omeruo told BBC Sport. "The doctor insists I need rest to start next season without injury."

The 22-year-old was first called up by Nigeria in January 2013 and he went on to play at that year's Africa Cup of Nations and Confederations Cup - and at the 2014 World Cup.
He admitted he was looking forward to playing at the Games, especially after the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2015 and 2017 African Cup of Nations.

"It is disappointing and frustrating to say the least. I'd be lying if I said I would not want to be out there playing," he said. "But at the same time I need to be fully fit to be at my best and I have no doubt that the squad will do great in Brazil. I would also like to thank the coach (Samson Siasia) for even considering me in the first place."

A firm fixture in the Kasimpasa side, such has been Omeruo's impact that the Turkish club are now exploring the option to buy him at the end of his loan spell.
He joined Chelsea from Belgian side Standard Liege in 2012 and developed on loan at ADO Den Haag in Netherlands in an 18-month spell from 2012 to 2013.

The centre-back, who is yet to make his competitive debut for Chelsea, then went on loan to Championship side Middlesbrough in January 2014 and made 14 appearances. He returned to Teesside again for the whole of 2014/15 season where he made 22 appearances.

I still stand on what I said, child rapists should be castrated- Florence Ita-Giwa

Senator Florence Ita-Giwa who was a special guest at a fund raising exhibition for Mirabel Centre, held at the British Council in Lagos last week, said that throwing child rapists into prison is not enough justice. The Senator who represented Cross River in the Senate said the best way is to cut off their genitals to ensure they do not use them again on other children. In reference to accounts shared by two rape survivors at the event, she said:

"The lady said she was happy that she got justice for her four-year-old daughter who was raped by two men but, in my mind, if I were a judge and a man is brought to court for raping a child, he will receive capital punishment. But I will say, 'don't kill him, rather llet him live his life in pain, let his organ be cut off'. He should not be allowed the pleasure of using that organ anymore. If the organ is not cut off, at the end of his term in prison, he will use it on other children. Fortunatel for them, I'm no longer in the Senate but I will find a way to get it into the chamber. This is the proper way to end the evil of rape in the society" she said. (Vanguard)

Yesterday, April 23, Mrs Ita-Giwa shared two photos with the reports on her private Instagram page, reiterating her stand on the issue.

"I still stand on what I said,Anyone who is capable of this Act,should be castrated. We need to start setting examples for a safer community, it might be your daughter next,Let's fight this menace together.  We have to take a stand on this. Say no to rape and let's do what we can to stop this menace in the society.  #FIG #SERVICETOHUMANITY #SAYNOTORAPE #PROTECTOURGIRLS #LETSPROTECTOURCHILDRENFROM" she wrote

Former President Jonathan Honored by two Californian cities

On Saturday the 23rd of April, in Antioch, California, President Goodluck Jonathan was honoured by the cities of Antioch and Lathrop for promoting peace and democracy in Africa.

At the award ceremony, the mayor of the city of Antioch, Mayor Wade Harper, expressed his admiration for Jonathan and declared that the city of Antioch, California was proud of his legacies, especially his act of overseeing free, fair and conclusive elections and leaving the scene when the ovation was loudest.

He recommended Dr. Goodluck Jonathan's behavior to other leaders. Former President Jonathan, who was represented by Mr. Reno Omokri, gave a goodwill message to the two cities that had gathered to honor him as well as to the Nigerian community in the Bay Area of California. Dr. Jonathan said he was "proud of Nigerians in the diaspora and more so of Nigerians in the US and even more so of the Nigerian diaspora in California."

Continuing, the former President said Nigerians in the diaspora were an asset to Nigeria who remitted over $20 billion home annually, "much more than the World Bank, IMF and foreign direct investment."

Dr. Jonathan ended by saying he was proud of diaspora Nigerians and tried to show his appreciation for their support of Nigeria by ensuring that during his time in office at least three direct flights were initiated between America and Nigeria to ease travel and reduce costs for travelers to Nigeria.

Jonathan;s Goodwill message to the Cities of Antioch and Lathrop
I send this message of goodwill to the Nigerian community in the Bay Area of California who have gathered at Open Heavens Community church to celebrate with me as I am honored by the cities of Antioch and Lathrop. I had planned to be there. Indeed I had concluded travel plans. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control I could not make the trip.

I have always been proud of Nigerians in the diaspora and more so of Nigerians in the US and even more so of the Nigerian diaspora in California. Some of you may recall that upon my ascension to the office of President on May 6th, 2010, one of my first acts was to open up a Facebook page to personally interact with Nigerians.

In June 2010, a diaspora Nigerian from the Bay Area of California informed me on my Facebook page of an abandoned building belonging to Nigeria in San Francisco and I dispatched our then ambassador to that city to claim the property and renovate it.

Hopefully, the building may again host a consulate as it once did in the 80s. The point I am trying to make is that I have been communicating with you and I see you as an asset to Nigeria that makes me proud. Elsewhere, I have mentioned that aside from oil, diaspora Nigerians are the single largest source of capital inflow into Nigeria. In my last year as President you remitted $21 billion home. Much more than the World Bank, IMF and foreign direct investment. My people, you are an asset to your fatherland.

Because of the importance with which I held you, my administration facilitated direct flights to Nigeria from the US to Nigeria. We ensured no less than three airlines fly direct between Nigeria and the US including one from Houston to Lagos for the benefit of those of you from the West Coast.

We also ensured that Enugu airport was upgraded to an international airport and I recall that a number of diaspora Nigerians from the US boarded the inaugural Ethiopian airlines flight that landed there in August of 2013. Again let me say that I appreciate the Nigerian community in the Bay Area.

I would also want like to thank Mayor Wade Harper and the council members of the city of Antioch for choosing to honor me for my efforts in promoting democracy. I am indeed humbled by their thoughtfulness in recognizing our modest efforts. I also wish to express my gratitude to the city of Lathrop and its mayor and council for also deeming it fit to recognize our efforts.

I wish I could be there in person, however, I have asked Reno Omokri to represent and I am with you in spirit. Thank you and may God bless Nigeria, may God bless California, may He bless the cities of Antioch and Lathrop and my God bless you.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
President, Federal Republic

Prince's body cremated before family members and close friends in a private ceremony

Just two days after the legendary singer was found dead inside his Minnesota home, at the age of 57, his body has been cremated. He was cremated yesterday afternoon at his home.
In a statement, his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, said that the 57-year-old superstar’s family and friends gathered for a loving goodbye. She said:

"A few hours ago, Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye,". "Prince's remains have been cremated and their final storage will remain private.  We ask for your blessings and prayers of comfort for his family and close friends at this time."
"The cause of death remains unknown and it will be at least four weeks before we receive the results of the autopsy.  An announcement will be made at a future date for a musical celebration."

Only very close friends and family members including Prince's sister 55 year old Tyka Nelson, who may inherit his fortune, gathered at his home- Paisley Park Saturday afternoon to pay their respects to the singer.

Hundreds of fans were gathered outside. People emerged from the estate and handed out purple boxes to some fans. Each box contained a handout with a color photo of the late musician and a T-shirt with “3121” printed on it, which is the title of a Prince album.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's office confirmed on Friday that an autopsy was performed on Prince and that results may not be available for several weeks to come.

Atiku Abubakar laments brain drain out of Africa. "We need them in Africa. We need them to pitch in"

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed concern over the current brain drain out of Africa, which results in the continent’s best and brightest taking their ambitions, intelligence and drive to other parts of the world, such the United Kingdom and America.

"We need them in Africa," he said. "We need them to understand the problems in Africa. We need them to pitch in."

Speaking at the London School of Economics (LSE) Africa Summit on Saturday, April 23, the Turaki Adamawa explained that a great many more students could be sent to schools like the LSE on scholarships, using the equivalent of the funds currently being channelled to running the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, which he founded, thereby saving costs on the construction of buildings, running of a power plant, and provision of security and the like.

However, he explained, how we are to use philanthropy to identify, motivate, train, and reward people in such a way as to promote development in Africa.

Other speakers at the annual gathering, which showcases Africa’s contributions to the world and fosters debates on the challenges facing the continent, were: Okendo Lewis-Gayle, Founder and Chairman of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance (HEA); Ashish J. Thakkar, Executive Chairman of Mara Sokoni; Sangu Delle, Founder and CEO Golden Palm Investments; Geraldine Joslyn Fraser-Moleketi, Special Envoy on Gender at the African Development Bank and Parminder Vir OBE, CEO at Tony Elumelu Foundation.

While exploring the theme of this year’s event, “Philanthropy: Investing in Human Capital”, Atiku pointed out the various roles his university has been playing in the sustainable development of Nigeria, such as the TELA program (Technology Enhanced Literacy for All), now funded by the United States Agency for International Development, which is using the old technology of radio to reach twenty thousand vulnerable, out-of-school children in the surrounding community.
He also mentioned the Adamawa Peace Initiative (API) which reaches out to local Muslim and Christian religious leaders, as well as local business, community, and educational leaders as a way of fostering peace in a region ravaged by terrorism.

"AUN is, I believe, one of the first universities in the world whose stated mission is to be a ‘development university’," Atiku said, explaining that the school focuses its teaching and research on the problems of development in all of its senses: literacy, economic planning, sustaining and restoring the environment, entrepreneurial skills, public health-the whole spectrum.

"But beyond what happens in the classroom and the library, we are taking the knowledge, the information, and the solutions developed in our university and applying them in the local community, in Nigeria, in West Africa, and eventually in the whole continent."

The former Vice President, however, emphasised that private efforts, including philanthropy, are not a substitute for carefully targeted and efficiently managed public investments in these vital areas.

Former WWE wrestler Chyna’s brain donated to science

Former WWE wrestler Chyna-whose real name is Joanie Laurer- who was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday will have her brain donated for scientific research according to her manager, Anthony Anzaldo.

Anzaldo revealed that Laurer had been contacted to join a concussion lawsuit against WWE by other former professional wrestlers but they declined saying they were only interested in pursuing scientific exploration of the effects a career in wrestling and a history of domestic violence has on the brain.
Anzaldo said:
“My hope is that we can do it. I’m in the process of getting the permission to speak on behalf of family to tell the coroner it’s okay to release it.”
We’re not interested in the lawsuit at all,”. “We’re just looking for (the researchers) to give us everything they can get.”
Anzaldo says the research will include Nigerian Doctor- Dr. Bennet Omalu, the pathologist who discovered CTE – Central traumatic encephalopathy. Omalu and his efforts to bring CTE awareness to the NFL were the subject of the Will Smith film Concussion.

Some former pro wrestlers like Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, John Cena and Jeff Hardy confirmed they will be donating their brains for study, if it will help further concussion research, he would be interested in donating his brain as well.

Witness against Saraki admits to errors in investigation - Report

Report sent in by witnesses at the on-going Saraki trial at CCT. Read below...
Prosecution Witness 1, in the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s (CCT) trial against the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, today admitted that Dr. Saraki was not interrogated by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), in-line with the procedures established by the laws that institute the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal.
Answering questions on cross-examination by Saraki’s counsel,Paul Usoro (SAN), Michael Wetkas, the first witness, who is also an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, maintained that the Senate President was never given an opportunity to confirm nor deny the allegations against him by the CCB, because it was the EFCC that had conducted the investigations relating to the claims, not the CCB.

This revelation, raises new contentions, as the precedent clause in Section 3D of the of the CCT Act, clearly states that all cases at the CCT are dependent on the fact that “the person concerned makes a written admission of such breach or noncompliance, no reference to the Tribunal shall be necessary.”

Many will recall that the Senate President stated at the commencement of the CCT proceedings that his fundamental rights based on the precedent clause of the CCT Act were abused.

In 2011, former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had his case dismissed, as the tribunal had also failed to allow him to confirm or deny the allegations brought against him by the CCB.

However, when Saraki’s lawyers filed a similar motion, Justice Umar, who gave the ruling in Tinubu’s case, stated that he had made the ruling in Tinubu’s case in error.

Meanwhile, the CCT boss has also ordered that all other cases at the CCT be stood down till further notice, as Saraki’s trial must proceed day to day until the end of the proceedings.

This ruling has raised eyebrows, as the tribunal currently has other cases to adjudicate, making many observers to ask if there is truly a timeline - as some say - to convict the Senate President using the CCT.
