Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he is one of the best managers in the world amidst criticism from various media outlets against his approach and tactical decisions at some matches this season.

Man U have lost 3-0 to Arsenal and Liverpool this season, lie fifth in the premier league table and are in the F.A Cup final against Crystal Palace but Van Gaal says he is one of the best football managers in the world that's why criticism comes his way.


"I can cope with it when the media is writing for six months I am sacked already. It is not new for me," Van Gaal said at United's Player of the Year awards dinner.
"For my players, it is not so easy. They are reading it every day. How do you think that affects my authority? What do you think about the way they want to follow my advice, when their coach is portrayed like a nobody because I cannot do anything?
"But I am not like that. I am very arrogant. I am one of the best managers of the world. We have to meet the expectations of the biggest club in the world. Expectations are too high," he added.
 
"We are in a period of transition. It is not so easy. We're still in a position to qualify [for the Champions League], and we're in the final of the FA Cup.
"We've fought back many times [this season], so you can applaud the players, because they've done it.. I came to England to win a trophy, but first we have to qualify for the Champions League."

Burna Boy & his producer clash on twitter over the leak of a song, unpaid debts

A supposedly new song by Burna Boy titled 'Acting Bad' is stirring up drama on Nigerian twitter. Burna boy reportedly tweeted the link to the song but took it down. However, he later went ahead to clarify that the song was actually produced in 2015 by Orbeat, who also produced his hit single, 'Soke' & worked on his album.

On the other hand, the producer lashed out at him on twitter via his handle, Orbeat_Official today, claiming that the song was released illegal without his consent and that he hasn’t been paid fully for the work he put in burna boy's album. He even claimed that Burna's mother sidelined him ever since she took over his career. Burna Boy has angrily responded back to the claims, slamming & calling out the producer for being manipulative, a 'crack head' and a 'thief'.

Lagos state to begin crude oil production Lagos state to begin crude oil production

Lagos state has become an oil producing state as a Nigerian oil exploration company, Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Co. Ltd (YFP), says it will soon begin production of crude oil from its Aje field located in block OML 113 offshore Lagos. A statement by the company says the company has capacity to produce 40,000 barrels per day.
“Oil produced from the Aje field will be stored on the Front Puffin which has production capacity of 40,000 barrels of oil per day and storage capacity of 750,000 barrels,”the statement said

Ondo State doctors & other medical personnel protest over unpaid salaries

Ondo State doctors and other medical personnel in the state are protesting the non-payment of their salaries for 5 months by the state government. All medical personnel withdrew their services in government hospitals yesterday and converged by 7am at the Mother and Child Hospital.


Closing the gate leading to the hospital, they marched in a peaceful protest, carrying placards demanding for their pay, on major streets in Ondo town.

The Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Kiladejo, addressed the protesters and agreed to meet with state Gov. Olusegun Mimiko on their behalf. African football legend Samuel Eto'o has received a cash bonus of €250,000 from his Turkish club Antalyaspor after scoring his 20th goal of the season for the club.

Troops of 120 Task Force Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade, in conjunction with vigilantes while on patrol yesterday May 3rd, intercepted 5 Boko Haram terrorists logistics team at Gotumba area trying to move logistics items to suspected Boko Haram hideouts at Aluwa, using 5 donkeys. The terrorists on sighting the patrol team, ran and abandoned the items. However, the team pursued and killed 3 of them, while 2 escaped with gun shot wounds.


Items recovered from them include 3 packets of Tramol, 2 packets of Lamumol, 7 packets of Really Extra, 2 packets of Viagra, 2 o of Ulgra and 14 of washing soap. Other items include 4 rolls of Klin Detergent, 2 packets razor blade and 14 packets of Maggi, half-bag of table salt, 5 bicycle tyres and tubes, as well as 2 quick patch for tubes, 1 roll of matches and 10 pairs of rubber shoes. The troops also recovered large quantity of potash, onions, locust beans, some quantity of rice, mats and tarpaulin.

Buhari returns 2016 budget to National Assembly

President Buhari has reportedly returned the 2016 budget to the National Assembly. According to Vanguard, the decision to return the budget may not be unconnected with some discrepancies in the figure Buhari noticed in the reviewed budget documents sent to him by the Assembly members.

The re-worked budget was reportedly sent to Buhari in the early hours of today at about 1: 15am but was returned to the National Assembly at about 12.00 noon.

A source in the presidency who spoke to Vanguard said
“The budget got to the State House at about 1.10am and Mr. President went through it early this morning and still had some issues with some of the figures. I can not tell you exactly what it was but I think the insertions made by the lawmakers were not significantly altered. You know the lawmakers had moved some allocations for key projects that are dear to the president to other areas especially to their constituency projects. Of course, they have changed some but I believe Mr. President is not satisfied with the reconciliation they made. I think this is one of the reasons why it was returned. I can assure you, Mr. President is desirous to sign the budget because he is aware and has acknowledged that Nigerians are going through hardship. He is also concerned so if the budget is cleaned up this night and sent to him, he will sign it as soon as possible. That I know very well”.

US Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race after Donald Trump won Indiana state thereby making Donald Trump the presumptive Republican nominee.
But John Kasich, the other remaining Republican presidential candidate, who has only won 1 state since the Primary election started and only had 7.5% votes in Indiana is still in the race, he has refused to drop out.
Ted Cruz fought really hard, refusing to give up on his campaign but Tuesday night, he announced he was dropping out of the race after he lost Indiana to Donald Trump. It was an emotional announcement that left his parents teary eyed (That's his mum sitting in the above photo). He was also emotional as he made his speech. He said he was dropping out because there was no way he could win the GOP Presidential nominee after losing Indiana.
Donald Trump won with 53.3%, Ted Cruz 36.7% and John Kasich had 7.5%.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday described President Muhammadu Buhari as “my grandfather, “saying it is improper for him to abuse the President as widely claimed.
But the governor maintained that “being his grandfather” does not mean he would not criticise him when going in the wrong direction.
Fayose, who was a Guest Speaker at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) World Press Freedom Day lecture held on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State, said he would rather die than concealing the truth.
Speaking on the topic “Journalism and Politics : Two Sides of A Coin,” the controversial governor said there were two things that people were afraid of, that is they were  afraid to die and were also afraid to be locked away.
Fayose said his criticism of President Buhari is healthy for Nigeria and the people of the country to achieve economic and political development.
According to him, it would be absurd for all to watch and refused to talk even when the ship of the nation is drifting away dangerously to perdition.
Citing the illegal arrest and detention of some Nigerians by agents of the federal government without any evidence of criminal charges, he stated that it was against the rights of any citizen to be detained for several weeks without any proof.
While insisting that his unrelenting criticism of President Buhari was not due to bitterness or hatred, the guest speaker said “I don’t abuse Buhari because he is my grandfather. But we all must not sleep and face the same direction in this country. The people voted for him because they wanted change and I agreed with that because we really needed change.
They told Nigerians that when they get into power there will be no subsidy and there will be no queues again but today full subsidy and queues are here.
“In the last 12 months, Nigerians have never had it so bad. Most generators have been exhausted.”

24 year old woman arrested with 193 wraps of cocaine at Lagos airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) yesterday May 2nd arrested 24 years old Rose Uche Igbinoba (pictured), with 193 wraps of cocaine hidden inside packs of sweets at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

Rose who arrived Nigeria from Dubai, was arrested after the whitish substance weighing 3.230kgs ‎which she wrapped in the sweet packs, tested positive for cocaine.

Speaking on her arrest, NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Ahmadu Garba said Rose who hails from Edo state and her accomplice were arrested by the vigilant men of NDLEA
“One Igbainoba Uche Rose, who concealed 3.230kgs inside sweets was apprehended at the arrival hall during inward screening of passengers. A suspected member of the cartel, Ofor Kamsochukwu Chimezie was arrested on a follow-up operation. The suspects are being investigated,”he said
When interrogated, Rose said she was promised N500,000 to traffic the banned substance
“I work as a clerical staff after I completed my primary school because there was no money to further my studies. I have suffered hardship in life, but a man offered to assist me establish my personal business. He promised to pay me half a million Naira. This was how I got involved in this problem” Rose said.
She and her accomplice will be charged to court soon.

Cameroonian President begins 2-day state visit to Nigeria today

President Paul Biya of Cameroon and his wife Chantal, will begin a two-day state visit to Nigeria today May 3rd. ‎Biya and his delegation will be revived by President Buhari at the state house Abuja.

In an exclusive tell-all interview conducted by Thisday journalist, Azuka Ogujuiba, an emotional Tiwa Savage opened up about the problems in her marriage with her husband, Tunji Balogun.

Azuka Ogujuiba has now been interviewed by genevieveng.com, where she revealed all that went down, before & during the interview. Some excerpts as you continue.

How did you get to interview Tiwa ?
I was supposed to interview her three weeks ago. And she was supposed to get permission to use Jamil’s picture with the pampers picture.
I had been following up for a while unsuccessfully. i believe she was reluctant because of the issues going on in the marriage.

After Teejay’s rant in the morning, I was asked to check online and saw TeeJay’s rant. I called Tiwa and told her what I heard and asked about the interview we were supposed to have. I later called Elohor both lines were busy throughout the day. I was finally able to get Elohor about 10pm and said I need to speak to Tiwa.But she replied that she doesnt think Tiwa will talk. Around 2am my phone rang and I saw Tiwa’s caller ID. And it was her PA saying she’s ready to do the interview and asked If I can come she would be very grateful. So I had to get my younger brother to come with me because of the time. So they came to pick me from home and we went to Tiwa’s house. It was a bit scary because of that time of the night.
The interview was meant for ThisDay not PulseTV but her management decided to release it to Pulse instead. I was quite upset about that.

What state did you meet her ?
She was in a bad state. Like someone in mourning. Her eyes were swollen. She was in tears. I met her with Elohor in her bedroom. And she gave me her phone to read the exchange between her and her husband and from my conclusion she wanted peace and was asking for them to part ways amicably and be good friend’s for Jamil’s sake. I saw her photos from the miscarriage and that brought tears to my eyes.
People said why did she take pictures. But I believe it was because she knew who she married. There were pictures of her in a stretcher.

How well do you know them ?
I met Tiwa before she came to Nigeria. We became friends when she relocated and I did an interview with her. And shortly threreafter she introduced me to TJ as her manager then and we got talking. He showed a lot of dedication in making sure Tiwa progressed in her career.
I got along well with TJ even more than Tiwa. I feel very heartbroken this happened. I was involved in their wedding. I was the only journalist who flew to their wedding in Dubai.

Why did you show no emotion during the the interview ?
I had done my crying before I went on air. I told myself I had to be hard and it was deliberate. And her management insisted it had to be recorded so that she would not be misquoted. I am not a camera person but I decided to go along with their conditions because I wanted the exclusive. I felt she trusted me enough to give me the exclusive. I’m very nervous in front of the camera. It wasn’t easy for me because I was talking to a friend. I like TJ. I like Tiwa. It was tough I was trying to remove my emotions.
What would you say to your critics ?
I read some of the feedback and insults. I am not a TV journalist. I am a print journalist. I am not trained to be before a camera. I understand the criticism was because of the love for Tiwa so I’m not really bothered because I love her too. So believe it was because I didn’t show her the love which her fans expected.
After the interview was over we still sat down and talked and consoled her.
There were so many memes about my expression. People read me wrong. I was trying not to cry. I was in shock. But cyber bullying doesn’t move me. I have a thick skin. Tiwa knows I like her genuinely so I am ok with what anybody else says, We have mutual respect. She even called me later on to tell me not to let the insults bother me. Some people even commended me on my ability to detach my emotions.I understand her fans coming after me because they think I’m an enemy.

what else would you have asked ?
I think I would have loved to speak with TJ. I read him and Tiwa’s exchange on her phone. Tiwa didn’t want war. I would have asked him how he allowed situation to deteriorate so horribly. I remember how he used to be so protective of her, she was like an egg to him. So it is so shocking things have gotten to this stage.

Do you think too much was shared ?
The woman I saw that night was broken. I really don’t want to blame her. She was a woman who had tried so much. She was in a terrible state. I had to ask her why she was crying like someone had died. She has covered so much from the public like when she covered his debts for the car,wristwatch etc because she was scared the media would get hold of all the information.
I dont believe she did it to revenge. Tiwa is a soft soul. She is not a bitter person. She probably did it to save her brand. She’s the biggest female brand in Nigeria maybe even Africa.

Do you think this will affect her endorsements ?
I don’t think so. I hope not. She was paid 2.5m for a show with Remy Martin and the money never got to her because it was with TJ.

Who do you think is at fault ?
I don’t really want to support anyone but I know them both. I know Tiwa will not fabricate things that never happened. If have to stand with anyone I will stand with Tiwa.

She has covered so much from the public like when she covered his debts for the car,wristwatch etc because she was scared the media would get hold of all the information.
I dont believe she did it to revenge. Tiwa is a soft soul. She is not a bitter person. She probably did it to save her brand. She’s the biggest female brand in Nigeria maybe even Africa.

Do you think this will affect her endorsements ?
I don’t think so. I hope not. She was paid 2.5m for a show with Remy Martin and the money never got to her because it was with TJ.

Who do you think is at fault ?
I don’t really want to support anyone but I know them both. I know Tiwa will not fabricate things that never happened. If have to stand with anyone I will stand with Tiwa.

Delta community ask Fulani herdsmen to vacate their land

Following the recent attacks carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen, members of Obiaruku community in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State, have asked the herdsmen to vacate their land so that their farmers can farm in peace.

According to Vanguard, this development comes after eight members of the community were allegedly held hostage by some suspected Fulani herdsmen on a farm in the community on April 26.

According to the community Youth Leader, Chika Uwabuofu, the decision to ask the herdsmen to vacate their land after the herdsmen failed to honor a meeting where the issue of hostage taken by them could be resolved
“After they (Fulani herdsmen) released our people, the next day, the Delta State Committee on Conflict Resolution, Chairman of Ukwani council, our community leaders, vigilante group members and representatives of the Fulani herdsmen met. At that meeting, we told them that we want Fulani herdsmen to leave our land and we were told to come up with a resolution and another meeting was fixed for Friday. On that day, the Fulani people failed to attend the meeting. As a community, we resolved that Fulani herdsmen carrying out grazing activities on our land must leave so that our farmers can go back to their farms freely without any harassment. We resolved that no cow must go across River Ethiope to graze. Today we sent our vigilante members to the bush to search, but for now, they are no longer there. We are appealing to the state and federal governments to pay compensation to our farmers whose farm produce had been destroyed by the herdsmen. We also thank the state government and our council chairman for all they have done to restore peace to the community.”he said

SAN threatened to file a lawsuit against Tiwa Savage on behalf of TeeBlizz for destroying his reputation- Freeze

According to OAP Freeze, a man called him yesterday and introduced himself as a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who had the intention of filing a lawsuit against Tiwa on Behalf of TBillz, for character assassination. He also wrote that the man was going to demand a scary amount of money in punitive damages. Read what he wrote below...

The Internet has been buzzing with the Tiwa & T Billz saga since Thursday, and opinions are divided into two schools. There is #TeamTiwa where the supporters are of the mindset that Tiwa was cheated and abused by Billz who is the devil, while the devotees of #TeamTbillz are clamoring that Tiwa went overboard with her interview and the damage to T Billz was excessive. I'm sorry to say this, but what we have here is not an Arsenal vs Man-U match, where one team wins. In fact, to be entirely logical, none of them can win.

Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion, states that "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" and if used as a reference, we will end up with a constant chain of action-reaction scenarios, which is the perfect formula for a lose-lose situation.

If you really love Tiwa, you won't want the father of her first son to be dragged in the mud, so stop celebrating his pain. I read today, that Banky's mum kicking Billz out of Banky's flat, as an aftermath of Tiwas interview. If you think Tiwa holds the Aces now, think again, because a gentleman called me earlier today, introducing himself as a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and that he want to file a lawsuit against Tiwa on Behalf of TBillz, sighting character assassination and demanding a scary amount of money in punitive damages. He went on to say that the destruction to Billz reputation is irreparable. He went on to inform me that legally, the onus would be on Tiwa to prove that he actually used the drugs which won't be an easy task. 
I had to plead with him for almost an hour before he could change his mind. In the same vein, if you are a die hard Billz fan damaging Tiwa's reputation won't help him as she remains the mother of his son Jamil. Tiwa is also an important factor in the determination of Jamil's moral upbringing, as he would be in her custody till he attains majority.
Whether we accept it or not, Tiwa and TBillz are both victims here. Therefore, the ONLY winning team is #TeamJamil and for this team to win, both his parents have to be respected and prayed for.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez "100 Years", the movie you will never see, was inspired by the century of careful craftsmanship and patience it takes to create each decanter of Louis XIII Cognac. 

 

To ensure that "100 Years" remains secure until its official premiere on November 18, 2115, one century from now, the film was placed in a state-of-the-art safe which will open automatically in 100 years when the timing is complete. One thousand guests from around the world received an exclusive invitation to give to their descendants to attend the premiere of "100 Years", on November 18, 2115, at the House of Louis XIII in Cognac, France.

2115: An Unknown Future

While this ground-breaking film will not be released until 2115, three teasers have been produced that explore hypothetical visions of what Earth might be like in one hundred years.  Each teaser begins with the same dialogue and incorporates the actors, but each presents a different future. 

One imagines the Earth one hundred years from now overtaken by nature. Another imagines a world ruled by technology, after extraterrestrial exploration when Earth becomes ultra-urbanized and technologically advanced. The film "100 Years" was placed in a custom made safe created in partnership with Fichet-Bauche, a distinguished French company, established in 1825, and a world-leader in secure storage facilities. The safe is a marvel of design, featuring bulletproof glass and a revolutionary timer that records the time and date upon closure and counts down one hundred years.  Once closed, the safe will not open until the one hundred year countdown is complete on November 18, 2115.
